Global Village Duabi – A Complete Visitor’s Guide

Global Village is the largest seasonal cultural leisure and shopping event in the region and attracts a large number of visitors to Dubai every year.

This year the festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary, unfortunately the festivities due to the anniversary due to the coronavirus this year will be less exuberant than usual.

No closing date has been announced for the 2020/2021 edition.

Countries and Pavillions at Global Village Dubai

Every year, an average of 75 different countries can be found in the countries section of Global Village, divided over 30 different pavilions.

For the first time in five years, the American pavilion has also been represented again with both North and South America. The countries Canada, United States, Argentina and Brazil can be found in this pavilion.

In addition to these countries, in Global Village Dubai you will also find pavilions from, among others, Turkey, Jordan, Indonesia, South Korea, Algeria, Thailand, France, Germany, Egypt, Japan, Russia, Qatar and an Eastern Europe pavilion including Ukraine, Romania and Serbia.

The largest pavilion is the pavilion of India, in total you will find more than 300 different stalls in this pavilion.

In addition to the country pavilions, there is plenty of other entertainment to be found in Global Village, including a number of special attractions.

There is a Heritage Village where you can learn more about the history of the Middle East, there are a large number of sandcastles to admire, you can get scared in the 3D Haunted House or watch moving dinosaurs in Animal Land.

This year, Fantasy Island will again be present with seven new attractions, including the 58-meter-high Ferris wheel “Wheel of the World”, a circus and a large number of attractions. In addition, in the six months that Global Village is open, 12,000 shows are given, including 20 concerts by famous Arab and Asian artists. Those who have had enough of all the attractions and country pavilions can relax in one of the 150 restaurants, cafes and kiosks in Global Village.

Global Village Fireworks show & events

Every Thursday and Friday evening at 9:00 PM a fireworks show takes place above the grounds of Global Village.

There is also a parade that can be admired every Friday evening around half past eight.

Furthermore, various large shows and concerts take place daily on the grounds of Global Village.

The concerts on the grounds of Global Village in Dubai are mainly given by local stars such as Mohamed AlShehhi and Red Baraat.

Every now and then you might find a better known star on stage such as Jason Derulo.

Check the Global Village website to view the current agenda, as the dates of the fireworks shows and performances can change.

The Parade of the World takes place every Thursday evening at 7:30 PM.

New this year is the Monster Stunt Show where you can watch a show full of stunting monster trucks, cars and motorbikes flying through the air.

Also new this year is the floating market and over 30 new attractions.

Global Village Dubai Tickets & Tours

You can buy your tickets directly online via Viator or buy tickets at the ticket office – which can be quite busy. 

Tickets including transfer

Do you not have your own transport at your disposal and would you like to visit Global Village? Then you can also buy tickets that include a transfer. you will be picked up from your hotel in Dubai at around 4:30 pm and then dropped off at Global Village. Here you can explore the grounds of Global Village at your leisure for about 4 hours. After you have visited Global Village you will be neatly dropped off at your hotel in Dubai.

The costs for the tickets including transfer to Global Village are $30 per person. The Global Village tickets including transfer can be booked online via the Viator website.

Global Village & Miracle Garden tour

Would you like to visit the flower garden of Miracle Garden in addition to Global Village? Then there is a combi ticket including transfer from your hotel in Dubai. During this 8-hour tour, you will be picked up from your hotel in Dubai around 12:30 and then proceed to the Miracle Garden and Global Village. Admission tickets for both attractions are included in the price and you will also receive free water during the trip. You will have a total of 4 hours to visit Global Village on this tour.

Global Village Dubai Timings and Opening Hours

Global Village Dubai is open from October 25, 2020 to the end of March/ beginning of April 2021.

From Saturday to Wednesday, Global Village is open from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, the last entry is possible until 11:30 PM.

On Thursdays and Fridays and during public holidays, the park is open from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM with the last entrance at 00:30 AM.

Monday is family day, with the exception of holidays, and only women and children are allowed in.

How to get to Global Village Dubai

Global Village is located at Exit 37 of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road, making it easy to travel by car to Global Village. You can easily park at one of the 17,000 parking spaces around the site.

The RTA, the Dubai bus company, has four bus routes to Global Village DubaiBus line 102 leaves every hour from Rashidiya Metro Station in one go to the grounds of Global Village.

Bus number 103 departs from Union Metro Station and goes along Baniyas Street, Al Rebat Street, and Nad Al Hamar and stops at the Global Village grounds.

Bus line 104 departs from Al Ghubaiba Station and travels along Sheikh Rashid Street, Al Jafiliya Metro Station, 2nd Za’Abeel Street and Dubai-Al Ain Street.

Bus 106 departs hourly from the Mall of the Emirates Station to Global Village.

The bus lines run from 3:15 pm to 11:15 pm and buses leave every half hour. Travel time to Global Village is 30 minutes.

The bus lines and departure locations may have changed, so always check the website of the RTA or the website of Global Village for the most current bus lines.
