The Dubai Monorail is an air transport system that operates on a single rail. It was established and opened in 2009 to connect the mainland with the famous man-made palm-shaped island. It brings passengers from Dubai to the lavish Atlantis The Palm hotel.
Tickets for Monorail Palm Jumeirah
The Palm Island Monorail is not integrated with the Dubai public transport system or the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). It is managed by the private company. This company operates its own ticketing system and sets its own rates.
The Nol Cards are therefore not valid on The Palm Island Monorail.
To use the Palm Island Monorail, it is necessary to purchase a single ticket or return tickets at any Monorail station.
How to use your ticket for Monorail Palm Jumeirah
Palm Island Monorail tickets are contactless.
Approach the validation terminals located at each entry / or exit of the Monorail station. Then place your ticket on the card reader. Wait to hear a beep or to see the green light which indicates that your ticket has been validated for this journey.
NB: If you have a return ticket, keep it safe as you need to use the same ticket on your way back.

The Dubai Monorail crosses the entire man-made island The Palm Jumeirah. There are only four stations on the island at this time: Gateway station, Al lttihad Park station, Nakhell Mall station and Atlantis Aquaventure station.
Since The Pointe recreation center opened, a Monorail station with the same name is expected to open in the coming months. The Pointe is currently accessible by car, taxis and shuttles from several hotels.
Other Monorail stations to serve The Palm Island will also open over the next few years.
Dubai Monorail ticket prices
Prices vary depending on your destination on the island.
From Palm Gateway station to Nakheel Mall, a one-way ticket costs AED 10 and a round trip costs AED 15
From Palm Gateway station to Atlantis Aquaventure, one way costs 20 AED and round trip 30 AED
Most tourists take a return ticket from Palm Gateway to Atlantis Aquaventure for 30AED. Be aware that it is also possible to buy an all day ticket with unlimited rides for 35 AED
Children under 110 cm in height travel for free and do not need a ticket
There are vending machines and an ATM at the station level to purchase tickets.
To date, payments at the counter are only in cash.
Connections with the Tramway and the metro
The Monorail Palm Gateway station is located on the mainland. It lies just off the base of the man-made island and connects to the Palm Jumeirah Tram station.
At the exit of the Palm Jumeirah tram station, you will have to take a footbridge and then cross the parking lot of the Gateway station to get to the Palm Gateway station of the Monorail.
The Palm Island Monorail is not yet connected to the Dubai Metro. There are plans to link it to the Metro Red Line at Dubai Internet City Station and Al Sufouh Tram Station in the next few years.
Dubai Monorail timetables
The Dubai Monorail runs daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a frequency of approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
The first train departs from Palm Gateway station at 9:00 am. The last train departs at 9.45 pm. In the opposite direction departing from Atlantis Aquaventure station, the first train leaves at 9:15 a.m., while the last one leaves at 10 p.m.
Attractions located on The Palm Jumeirah Island
The Monorail is an aerial train that crosses the island The Palm from side to side. The journey of around ten minutes allows you to see the skyscrapers of Dubai Marina. You will also see the sumptuous villas of Palm Island with their private beaches. The ride also offers a magnificent view of the Atlantis The Palm hotel.
Since the opening of The view at the Palm observatory located on the 52nd floor of the Palm Tower, it is now possible to have a birds eye view of The Palm. Obviously this is not worth the sight of a helicopter tour, but you can still have an exceptional view over Dubai and Palm Island.
Since October 2020, The Pointe houses The Palm Fountain, which is none other than the biggest dancing fountain show in the world. It is much bigger and more spectacular than the show at the foot of the Burj Khalifa.
At the far end of the island, the Atlantis Aquaventure Resort provides access to attractions such as the Atlantis Aquaventure Water Park and The Lost Chambers Aquarium.
The Atlantis The Palm hotel also offers shops and restaurants also accessible to visitors who are not staying there.
Located just a few hundred meters away on foot you can also visit The Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk. This Broadwalk circles the island past the Atlantis The Palm hotel. It is a pleasant promenade to stroll along the coastline.
