Sharjah has a deep rooted and rich culture and history. This Sharjah museum explores it through artifacts found in excavations and explorations and shows the settlement of humans in Sharjah for more than 125.000 years, from the stone age all the way to the rise of Islam.

The excavations had started in 1973 and the objects found vary from artifacts, coins, jewelry, pottery and ancient weapons which teach us of the civilizations that developed along the way. They show relationships formed between neighbouring countries as well as explore models of tombs, cemeteries, and houses of the time.
